PRESENTATION TO THE MISSES PEENDEVILLE.

After mass on Sunday morning m the Otatau Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. Father Murphy announced that he had a very pleasant task to perform m presenting the Misses Prendeville with a purse of sovereigns on behalf of the congregation. In doing so he said they were all very sorry that the Misses Prendeville were leaving Otautau as they had done a deal of good work and would be much missed m church matters. Miss Mary Prendeville was ever ready to give willing her services towards and movement that had been got up for the benefit of the church. It was a credit to her the way she had taught the children the Christian doctrine. • She had given him great assistance on many occasions and always tried to make one feel that she was doing nothing. Ho wished them every success m future. He also thanked the congregation for their handsome donations, which he said would have done credit to a very much larger community.
