OTAUTAU v HEDDON BUSH.
A team from Otautau journeyed to Heddon Bush on Saturday to test the football qualities of the new club formed there this year, and a very good game resulted. Heddon Bush possess some very good players, but as this is the first occasion on whioh the majority of them have played football, they cannot be expected to have the finish and knowledge of the game possessed by the more experienced Otautau men. However, Heddon Bush put up a good fight, and at no time m the game did they look like a beaten team. In the first spell O. E. Robertsan scored three successive tries, none of which were converted, for Otautau, but m the second spell Heddon Bush were attacking very strongly most of the time and deserved more than the one try scored by them. The game ended 9-3 m Otautau's favour. Mr J. Howells controlled the game. After the matoh the visitors were entertained by the Heddon Bush team, the ladies of the distriot supplying a very satisfying repast to which the visiting footballers showed a vigour even exceeding that displayed on the field of play. A return game will take plaoe later m the season at Otautau.
