♦ From Week to. Week. Wairaki Picnic. — - The Annual Wairaki School Picnic and Dance will be held on the school grounds at Beaumont on Friday, 21st inst. The dance tb be held In the evening takes place • in Mr John Flynn's barn. Methodist Church Concert.— The Concert held in Mr O'Kano's Hall at Wario on Wednesday evening last in conne tion with the Methodist Church was well attended. Mr J. Grant, snr., occupied the chair and the following programme was given by performers from Nightcaps and Waiiio : — Anthem, Nightcaps Choir, songs by Mr F. Thomas, Mrs McKenzie, Mrs J. Tinker, Miss C. Collins, Mr J. Grant, Mr Hensley, Miss Beck and Mr P. Grant, recitations by Mrs Kelly, Mr Sleep and Mrs Milne and a violin solo by Miss Paterson, and Mr F. Thomas who played the accomiments also.played a pianoforte selection. At tll3 conclusion of the programme, Mr Sleep moved a hearty vote of thanks to the performers which was carried by acclamation. The Nightcaps Brass Band played a number ot selections prior to the commencement c fthe concert. Sheep Dog Trials — • The secretary informs me that the annual meeting of the Sheep Dog Trials Assooia tion is to be held on Wednesday week in Griffin's Hall. Considerable discussion ie likely to ensue in regard to the programme for this year's trials, and it is moire than probable that the huntaway class will again be placed on the programme, while an event, limited to Wallace County, is alsc mooted.
