BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET

Fat Cattle. — At Burnside to-day 108 fat cattle \vtr> yarded, consisting principally of of fair to prime quality. Included hi the consignments were a few pens of North Island cattle. Bidding at the commencement was brisk and prices ruled fully 10s per head above those of last week, hut they eased off as the sale progressed to last week's values. Unfinished ows met with a dragging sale; prime bullocks, £15 to £16; extra heavy and prime to £16 lr 6d; medium, £11 lOi to £13 7s 6d; light, £8 17s 6d to £10; prime heifer?, £9 to £7 10s 6d ; extra, to £12 ; light to medium, £G 15a to £7 10s ; prime cow*, £J 10s to £8 ; medium, £5 5s to £6 ; light and agei, £4 13s 6d to £5 7s 6d. Fat Sheep.— The yard ing comprised 2112, the bulk of which were werhers. Although the yarding was smaller than usual, the supply was fully equal to the requirements of the trale. Values for the first part of' the sale'showed an advance of 6d to 9d per head, but towards the close the demand slackened and prices eased. There was au excellent display of sheep, many of the lots being of superior quality, and heavy weights.
