SCHOOL VACATION,

Tbe Nightcaps school broke up for tbe annual holiday on Wednesday afternoon last, the chairman of the Scbool Committee (Mr A. Hunter) presiding at the distribution of prizes held m the schoolroom m ihe .presence of a large gathering of friends. After a few introductory remarks by the chairman, the distribution of prizes was carried out by Rev. Mr McDowall, who presented the prizes to the junior classes, Rev. Mr Sleep, those to the senior classes, and Mr Jacobson, who presented the dux prize and the proficiency certificates. The children were all complimented by the speakers on (heir wotk during the year, the headmaster, Mi Gr_iy, and his assistants also receiving their well-merited quota of appreciation. The popularity of Mr and Mrs Gray was sealed at the function by a presentation from the senior pupils of the sohool of a beautiful inkstand to Mr Gr%y, and a silk handkercbief satchel to Mrs Gray, the presentations being carried out by the dux of the school, . Miss Grace Hunter. Mr Gray responded feelingly on behalf of himself and Miss Gray. Following is the PRIZE LIST.
