ECHOES FROM PURAPURAKINO.

The opening of the footbridge o?er the Parapurakino was tbe occasion of a public social function at Srovtliie.-- and Trail's mill. Addresses were given by the Chairman, Mr Smythies, his Worship the Mayor, Crs Carroll and Philp, and Mr Connor. County matters were dealt with by Mr Hirst. Capital songs were given by several vocalists during the. intervals of speech-making. Tables were then cleared and about 70 couples took the floor to musio by Mr Hunter and spent a most enjoyable time.
