Fire.
m At two o'clock this morning the dwelling occupied by Mr J. Simon, at the corner of Grey and Macandrew streets, North f Otautau, was completely destroyed by fire. The night wes perfectly calm so that the fire was confined to the house itself, which was completely destroyed, together with the whole of the contents. The building was , insured m the Commercial Union office for £125. Mr Simon had a policy of £100 on his furniture, but is uncertain whether it has expired or not. The house was the pro- - perty of Messrs E. B. and P. E. Baird, of Wellington, who purchased it less than a year ago. It was for many years occupied by Mr McGaryie. The loss to the owners is a serioud one, and especially so to Mr Simon, whose entire belongings were destroyed.
