OFFICIAL CLOSING TROPHIES PRESENTED The official closing- of the ladies' golf club was held on Saturday and the main closing- day on Sxuulay, the, trophies won during the season being presented omboth days. There was a good attendance on Sunday, although the weather was threatening. Visitors attended from Mangatoki and Cape. At the conclusion of the _ afternoon competitions, the president, Mr. S. Hutchen, welcomed the visitors and congratulated officials and members on a successful season. Mr. M. Pease (Alanga fold) spoke for the visitors. A very dainty home made altrenoon tea was appreciated. Afternoon results were:— Canadian Foursome: Miss E. Clouston and T. C'louston; Approaching: Ladies Miss J. Otene; Men: P. Itanford; Putting: Ladies: Mrs. 11. Otene: Men: L. Nidioll. Trophies were presented as follows: — Senior Championship Cup: 11. Otene. Intermediate: K. Hepburn. Junior: R. Jenkins. Spring Cup: C. Bowater. Waiaua Cup: K. Hepburn. Boyle Cup: C. Trotter. Cavaney Trophy: H. Donnelly. Farewell to Member Opportunity was taken at the ladies' closing, to farewell Miss E. Clouston, who is leaving Opunake to live at Palmerston North. The president, Mrs. E. M. Morris, wished her every success and happiness and presented a gift on behalf of members. Miss Clouston suitably replied. The weather was ideal for golf and the sealed hole competition was won by Mrs. F. Malcolm. Trophies presented were : Senior Championship Cup: Mrs. It. Otene.
