DES FORCES GUP PAHOTTT DEFEATED Good tennis was witnessed in the first challenge matcn tor the handsome Des Forges Cup played at Rahotu over the weekend, Opunake winning- in a closely contested game by .10 sets (98 games) to 6 sets (T 5 games). Fine Championship Came A fine exhibition of tennis was witnessed on Sunday when Miss E- Poach met Mrs. A. Aldridge in the Opunake Senior Women’s singles championship. The game went to 3 sets and long rallies were the rule. Mrs. Aldridge won the first set 6-3 but Miss Poach won the next two sets 6-4 in the Best ladies’ singles match witnessed this season.
