Bush workers employed under contract in the Niagara district are earning on the average of TBO a month, according to a statement made by a delegate at the quarterly meeting of the Southland branch of the : New Zealand Timber Workers’ Union. It was stated that they! were .paid in accordance with the number of logs they delivered to the mill and that the greater their output the greater their earnings. Their wages were rvell above award rates, but it was stated that many timber workers who were working under the award in the ordinary way were earning more than the award wages because (IT a bonus paid for increased output.
