MEMORIAL SERVICE

OKATO CEREMONY MEN KILLED IN ACTION All members of the Opunake District R.S.A. are invited to be present at the unveiling of the War Memorial at the Hemptou Hall corner, Okato, on Sunday next. The memorial and unveiling ceremony, which commences at 1.45 p.m, is in memory of the following men of the Okato District who paid the supreme sacrifice during the World War of 1939-45: ‘Flight Sergeant F. F. A. Jenkins; Flight Sergeant J. A. Power, Lance Corporal A. E. Keith, Privates L. C. W. Corbett, J. L. Harrison, E. P. Richardson, M. J. Shelter. A full programme including a parade of servicemen of both wars from the Okato P. 0., led by the band has been arranged. The address and. unveiling ceremony will be handled by Dr. G. W. Thompson, 0.8. E.. President of the New Plymouth R.S.A. Afternoon tea will be prodded by Okato residents after’ the final march past by returned servicemen.
