WEEK-END BOWLING

ONE DAYTOURNEY LOCAL RINK'S SUCCESS One of the most successful one day 'tournaments; conducted' by the .Opunake.Bowling :Club for many years was "held on Saturday,' a local rink, comprising R, Siddells, I; Radich, F. Alger and E: Riley (s) winning after a play-off with a Rahotu rink, Ross, Mitchell, Wlmlen, Hodge (s).' Sixteen fours from Opunake, Rahotu,' Okato, Auroa, New Plymouth and East End Clubs took part and the weather was ideal with the greens in perfect order. A high standard of bowling was witnessed, throughout the. day. Five rounds, 2 of 12 heads in the morning and 3 of 10 heads in the afternoon, were played, Riley and.. Hodge : being undefeated with 5 wins each. In the play-off Riley won by 6 points to 2, after a day of consistently good bowling.- ■ . Results were: -, ■»'
