CAME AT TE NGUTU WIN FOE OPITNAKE Opunake players paid their first visit to the new Te Ngutu links at-Okaiawa and for the first time this season fine weather favoured the trip. Well laid out and in splendid order the links were a credit to the Te Ngutu club, and the president of the Opunake Club, Mr. S. Hutchen, in returning thanks for the excellent day’s golf enjoyed by members, took the opportunity to congratulate the Te Ngutu players on the state of the greens and fairways and on their fine clubhouse. \ The golf was of a generally .good standard and Opunake won by 5 matches to 4, 1 all square. Results were as follows, Opunake first: Wehipeihana and Otene beat E. J. Linn and Newman 4/3; Snell and Bo water beat D. McCallum and G. S. Todd 4/2; Bullock and Burton lost to J. L. Meuli and V. F. Howell 1 up; Hutchen and Baylis lost to T. J. Betts and J. M. McCallum 5/4; Yep and Hooper v. J. Warnock and I). R. McCallum all square; J.'Snell and L. Des Forges beat P, H. Clare and J. M. King 5/4; Trotter and Thompson lost to S. Withers and G. Bayley 2 up; Harding and R. Peat beat C. H. Betts and A. Cameron 3/1; Jackson and Cavaney beat Hoddart and Roberts 2 up; M. G.
