OKATO WINS FINAL SATURDAY’S RESULTS The final of the Senior Coastal Basketball Division, was played under ideal conditions.- Rahotu defaulted to Opnnake owing- to some of its members being away in a Taranaki Rep. game. Okato and Opnnake were very even in the first half, all sections played good clean fast open basketball, the score at half-time being 6 all. On commencement of play, Okato scored 3 goals in quick succession with excellent passes. Opnnake tried bard to even, but their defence were unable to regain their first half accuracy in interception. Okato’s defence played a much better game and kept the ball from the Opnnake forwards. The final score being Okato 27, Opnnake 11. Junior Results: Pungarehn 11 v. Puniho 4; Opnnake 12 v. Okato 3; Pihama 12 v. O.D.H.S. 5 ; Rahotu B defaulted to Rahotu A,; Pihama 19 v. Okato 11: Opnnake 13 v. O.D.H.S. 9; Rahotu B defaulted to Puniho; Pnngarehu 8 v. Rahotu A 5: O.D.H.S. 12 v. Puniho G; Okato and Rahotu drew 9 all: Pihama 8 v. Pnngarehu 4; Rahotu B defaulted to Opnnake. The Junior final will be played next Saturday at the Opnnake District High School between Pihama and Opnnake, at 2 p.m. Points: Opnnake and Pihama 2G; O.D.H.S. 20: Rahotu A 12; Pnngarehu 10: Okato 9; Puniho 4; Rahotu B 3; Warea 2.
