RANCSTIKEI HUNT CLUB (By “Bernborough”) Stay at borne punters are well catered for during the coming week-end with broadcast meetings at Avondale and Christchurch, where the Christchurch Hunt Club are holding their fore-runner to the National Meeting on the Riccarlon course. The Raugitikei Hunt Club are also holding a meeting at Marton and good acceptances are carded for all races. So far the weather has taken a turn for the better and it is possible that tracks may not be unduly heavy. Form is sure to be hard to follow as a number of newcomers are listed in the different acceptance lists, but it may be wise to remember that horses who were not quite good enough to win at Trentham hut nevertheless ran good races may be due for a winning turn amongst weaker opposition. Tula; may be a likely improver to the jumping game, and FlahuSuk was a fair performer on the flat and is partial to winter conditions.
