CLOTHES DRIVE
(To the Editor) Pear Sir, May I through the columns of your .paper thank the people of Opunake for their very generous response to the "Save the children" campaign clothes drive conducted by the local Red Cross Committee? The result has surpassed our expectations;, and, we have now despatched 6 cases of clothing to he shipped overseas immediately. Of this clothing, children's garments numbered 533, and adults 261. a total of 774. It is gratifying to state that this clothing is all in perfect condition, and 45 ner cent, is made of new material. It has, been a big job sorting, listing, and packing, and in this respect special thanks are due to Mesdames R. Bowman, Fazackerley, F. Hammond and G. Dobbin for' sorting, listing and packing ; to Mr. Otene for repairing and nailing up cases; and to Opunake Motors for cartage. To all those who donated so generously we sav "thank you;" and we feel sure that you are rewarded when you remember that vour gifts vvill warm and cheer someone less fortunate than yourselves during the next winter in Europe.
