All patrons are assured of an enjoyable afternoon.

Tennis Representatives.— Two Opunake tennis players have been chosen to represent Taranaki in a contest with the Catholic sub-association on Saturday. They are It. R. Penney and Mrs. Thomas, who will take their places in the B grade team. Although the absence of these two top-grade players will be felt bv the borouy'li team which is to engage country representatives in a “fitness week” match on Saturday, all will join in complimenting theii fellow-members on their success. Dog Trials This Week. — Always an event of considerable importance on the coast, the annual meeting of the Cape Earnout I) of* Trials Club will be held on Mr. ][. ,1. Kelly’s property, Fungai chu on Thursday, Eridav and Saturday of this week. Events start at 8.30 a.m. each day, and there are five main classes for competition, entries for each being' good. The handsome prizes donated for competition will he presented at the club’s annual ball to be held in the Pungarehu Hall on Friday evening'. Penalty on Rates. — Ratepayers within the Opunake harbour district will be reminded by the notice? appearing in this issue of the necessity of j meeting their harbour rate dues before the penalty of ten per cent is added tq the levy. The penalty date fixed is March 2, and the additional charge will he avoided if payment is made before that date. Although the levy was made by the former Harbour Board, it will be collected by the Borough Council which now administers harbour affairs, and payments will go to the harbour account. 1
