IN FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS
| N.Z. BOYS TO TRAVEL 1 VISIT TO AUSTRALIA Following in the footsteps of the contingent of New Zealand returned soldiers who were the guests, qf Australian ex-service-men last year, a party of fifty boys, sons of returned men of the. Dominion, will cross the Ta sman in April. The visit, which again is at the invitation of the A.1.F., the responsible body being the Wives' and Children's Holiday Association, will be under the direction of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association, and the party will comprise boys of from 12 years to 14 years of age. Application has already been made by the Opunake district association for five places in the party, and it is felt certain that this district will have a representation.
The boys are to be accommodated at Furlough House, Narrabeen, near Sydney, and a comprehensive programme of sightseeing- and entertainment, including' a march to the Cenotaph, and a meeting- with the GovernorGeneral o.f New South Wales has been arranged for them. According to present arrangements, the party is to sail by the Awatea from Wellington on April 3 and return to the same port on April 21, about n fortniffht being- spent in Australia. The oost of their keep and hospitality while over the Tasman will be borne by their Commonwealth hosts, and it is hoped that some concession will be secured in fares. A suitable offioer-in-eharsre is. to bp appointed, and the partv will be under const-ant oare and protection throughout the visit.
