LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP On Friday last, the above match took place, the finalists being Misses B. Fleming and M. Brophy after a closely contested game, the former Avon 1 up at the 18th hole. Both played excellenf golf throughout, a feature of the match being the fact that only one hole Avas halved, this being the last of the match. The first hole found both players in difficulties and big figures were recorded, Miss Brophy Avinning by 8 to 9. Miss Fleming then opened out Avith 4,5, 5, for the next three to give her a lead of 2 up. Miss Brophy Adtftr the nex f in 6-7. Three Avius in a toav again saw Miss Fleming Avith a load of 3 up at the end of the first round, her opponent having win the ninth in 5-6.

Miss Brophy returned the compliment and collected (he first three holes in good figures, making the match all square, but again the three in a row took place by Miss Fleming, making the match dormy 3 in her favour. With a 3 and a 5 at the next two Miss Brophy won well, making the score dormy 1. A half at this hole gave Miss Fleming the match and the honour for 1935 The cards read as follows; Miss Fleming 48 and 51—99; Miss Brophy 52 and 41 for 8 holes, the 15th not being completed.
