CAR PARKING AT BEACH

ASSISTANCE FROM OWNERS From Sunday next, an officer appointed by the Seaside Society will be on the beach to park cars in positions so that the view from the main portion of the bathing area will not be obstructed. This movement should not inconvenience visitors to auj r great extent and their co-operation will be very much appreciated. It has long been the practice to park cars in any position on the beach, thus taking up a considerable portion of sand which could be used by bathers and little children who are in the majority on Sfmdays and holidays. I p to the present it has been unwise for parents to leave the little folk unattended in the sand owing to the danger of motor traffic-, while mothers have had to patrol Ihe water’s edge while the younger members of the famly were enjoying a dip owing to the whole view of the ocean being completely blocked by vehicles. The scheme which is to be adopted from Sunday next will be welcomed by parents and the older folk who may now sit well back on the sand and enjoy the view out to sea and at th e same time keep their children in view. Surf club members will also appreciate this move which will greatly assist them a watchful eye over thZL* in the water. The Society will be grateful to all motorists who assist the officer in carrying out his duty.
