committee meets. (j ENER A L B U SIN ESS A meeting of the Opunake Seaside Improvement Society was held last night in the Surf Club rooms on Wednesday night. Those present were Messrs A. Lambie (chairman), I . H. Maj> croft, L. Brown, J S. B Smith, T. H. H. Sinclair, A. Matlue, C. M Clare D. McCrone, J. Cloustoil, W. A. Sheat, A. J. Dawson, and S. M. Smith (secretary). Apologies were received from Dr. Griffin and Mr C. M ilhams. The caretaker (Mr C. Cameron) reported that adults were in the habit of using the small svings erected for tiny tots, as many as 1G adults having been on the eight, swings at once. It was decided fo take action against offenders. He also applied for alterations fo his storeroom, ibis being granted. Accounts lot a Ring 4-31 18/were passed for payment. A working bee is fo be held during the coming week-end to clean up timber and to clean round tlie young trees. The public are invited fo assist.

The old bathing sheds are to he put up for sale by auction on next sale day. It was decided to paint the bathing sheds, and aU so the bathers’ kitchenselasttou so the campers’ kitchen. A request is to h > made to the Opunake Harbour Board to stop the removal of sand from the beach.

Gala Day. The annual gala day was fixed for Wednesday, February 30, ana a similar programme to last year was adopted. All schools in the Eginnnt County are to he asked to hold their annual picnic on that date. The lease of the bench came up for discussion and all members ayreed that the beach, as a public resort, should bp treated as a domain and be rate free. A small committee was set up to meet the Town and Harbour Boards and no into the matter. Parking of Cars. On Sundays and gain days cars are to he stopped from parking in front of the pavilion and sunbathing area, as the view of the sea is completely blocked to people sitting around that part.
