The following remits were passed to go before the meeting oi the Surf Association: — .

“That the age limit for members of junior team be raised from 18 years to 20 years. “That the allotting of points tor resuscitation movements be altered a s follows: 12 movements, lull points, 11C or 124 deduct i point; 11 or 12 deduct 1 point; 10 or 14, deduct 3 points; 9*or 15, deduct 5 points; over 15 or under 9, no points be given. It was left to the captain’s discretion to enter teams for tEe various events for the coming competitions. The following programme was drawn up for the Taranaki cham- | pionships at Opunake on Februj ary 9 and 10, and will b ed at the next Surf Assocatiou meeting for approval. Saturday, February 9.

It was decided to ask the girl guides to take up a collection during the championships and to give them 25 per cent of the tot.il, the remainder to he divided between the club and the Surf Association on a 50-50 basis.

It was decided to carry on with the bulbing of a gobble-stone wall in front of the club's new section and the quotation of Mr A. Fake was accepted. ()n Sunday members of the Surf Club patrolled the beach, and during the day competitions for the •Tenkin trophies were held as follows -

A Grade—D. Burton defeated G. Webb.

B. Grade—R. Campbell (hold-) er) and F. Walker dead-heated, and Campbell retains the button. Two demonstrations were given <me by the junior team with Cliff Burton in the belt, and the other by a senior team consisting of W. E. Smith (captain), L. Watt (sup port), L. Harvey (belt), S. MeCullmn (first line), G. "Webb (second Hue), D. Burton (third line) and G. Cundy (reel). Although some of these have had no practice this year all showed that they knew their work. This team with the exception of G. Candy (aa’lio Avill he away) will be the competition team. P. Smith wilt Cumly’s place. Early in the day the junior members Avere hard at practice fa the lake going through the rescue and release methods prior to being examined for their bronze and surf medallions.

The club wish to acknowledge a donation of £1 towards the building fund from Mr J. Erni.
