“GOODNIGHT VIENNA.” TOMORROW NIGHT. The all-British picture “Goodnight Vienna” will be screened tomorrow night when patrons will have the opportunity of seeing the great English actor, Jack Buchanan. In the story Buchanan is captain in an Austrian regiment and there is no mistaking his popularity among the fair sex. When he meets the heroine, assistant in a flower shop, he is so fascinated that it becomes a case of love at first sight. Probably the girl’s delightful voice has something to do with this. Both are deeply in love when war broke out between Austria and Serbia, in 1914. His haughty aristocrat of a father has arranged his marriage with a member of the royal house, but the young officer, not able to drag himself away from lis sweetheart, is absent from the betrothal reception. The declaration of war abruptly terminates the festivities, and when •next day the troops march away his letter of farewell and explanation fails to reach the girl. Later, the hero returns to Vienna and becomes assistant in a shoe shop, while in his absence the little flower girl has risen to the dignity of an opera star, but spurns him. One night thev both visit the same restaurant. Connecting to her table by telephone, he sings to her, awakening old-time pleasant memories, and the girl capitulates.
