SWIMMING CARNIVAL

TOMORROW NIGHT. LIST OF HANDICAPS. Under the auspices of the Opunake Surf Life-Saving Club, a, series of swimming galas will be held at the lake every Wednesday night at 6.3 Q p.m. sharp. The first of these competitions will bo held tomorrow night when., from a personal of the handicaps, quite a number of good swimmers will be in action. The 50 yards handicap has claimed the attention of 20 entrants, while the ladies' event and a sprint for the boys have also received splendid patronage. Several novelty events, post entries, such as a cigarette race and awkward enfcry will ri,o doubt cause much amusement.

Weather permitting, quite a big crowd of residents will be present at the lake, the surroundings being particularly well suited for such an attraction, every person being enabled to gain an uninterrupted view of the proceedings.
