The correspondent of the New York Times at Washington reports that what are considered as inevit able signs that Mr Henry Ford intends to maKe a serious contest for the Presidency have just appeared. It is repo ted from Detroit that Mr Ford will return the Government many millions of dollars, represent ing the profits made during the war on submarine chasers, arms, etc., manufactured in the various Ford plants. According to the number of complaints lodged at this office ratepayers are now taking a keener interest in town aftairs, the work of the staft being watched with some amazement. A caller yesterday stated that the staff and team wore still engaged chipping grass and neglecting essential repair work. The main road between the town and Namu bridge is, he says, becoming a series of pot-hole?, and if repairs are not soon effected the road will go to pieces.
