Horticultural Show.
The fifth autumn shew of the local society will be held to-morrow, aud opens in the Town Hull at one o'clock. Entries have been received from Warea, Pungarehu, Oeo, and Kaponga, as well as a large number locally. The baby show promises to be an important section, in which there are three classes, and the prizes are three beautiful spoons, which have been donated by admirers of infants. As the committee has been unable to get medical men to act as judge, it has been arranged to deci ie it by ballot, which will take place at 3 o'clock. The children are to be in the ball at. 2 p.m. The principal points on which a child should be judged are set out to be health, size, aud cleanliness. Dress does not count.
In the evening there will be musical items, nail-driving, bat trimming, twine guessing, &c.
