School Committee.

The committee met on Thursday evening. Present; Messrs Looney (chairman), Fenton, Feaver, E. J. Dudley, Trotter, Chambers, and D. Markham. headmaster’s report. The report stated there were 93 children on the roll. The school has been examined, and the Sanitary Inspector has visited the’ school. The school will dismiss for the holidays' on Friday, 16tb, but the distribution of prizes will not take place until the 22nd instant. The co-operation of the committee was asked for Thursday next, when the concert takes place, and as the children are practising hard there is every prospect of a good entertainment. DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL. Mr Fenton said that he had written to the Education Board for particulars with reference to making a district high school of the local one. Members thought' it was a step in the right direction, and resolved that the secretary’s action be approved. (Chambers-Markham.) teacher’s residence. After discussing the unsanitary condition of the house, it was resolved that the Education Board be written to, pointing out the rotten state of the residence, and that it would be only waste of money having it repaired, as the Sanitary Inspector had already condemned the building as unfit for human habitation.
