Opunake Caledonian Society.

A meeting of the Caledonian Society was held on Tuesday evening Mr Heath presided. GBANDSTAND. It was stated that a verbal request had been made by the Town Board to the Society far an assurance that the members would vote a donation from the Boxing Day meeting (if financially successful) and also hold a by-meeting ou Easter'Monday, the proceeds (less actual minimum working expenses) to be devoted towards the grandstand building fund. On the motion of Mr Stewart it was decided to vote a sum, if surplus available, from the Boxing Day meeting. That the Society do hold a meeting on Easter Monday in aid of the grand stand building fund. Seconded by Mr Warner and carried without dissent. The sum of £7O, offered by the Society to the Domain Board, was authorised to be paid. v A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Heath, Warner, Swaysland, M. Finn and Armstrong were appointed to meet and consult with the Domain Board re site of proposed grandstand. ANNUAL MEETING. It was decided to hold the annual meeting earlier than, usual.
