Accident at Warea.
The sudden death took place at Warea on Saturday afternoon of Allan Richard Corbett, aged 22 years, who was residing at his parents' home. It appears that death was the outcome of an unfortunate accident. While engaged at a cutting loading earth on a dray last Tuesday the deceased slipped and fell backwards from a ledge on to the dray. He did not suffer immediately any serious sffeots, a.id was able to continue his work, finishing up the day as usual. On Wednesday, however, he complained of soreness across the chest and back, and it was tbe intention of the young fellow's father to send him into town for medical attention, but bad weatber was responsible for the postponement of the trip till the following day. Wednesday evening serious symptoms developed. Deceased had great difficulty in breatbing, and because paralysed in the left leg and arm. Dr Walker was telephoned for on Saturday, and deceased's immediate removal to the local Hospital was ordered. A cab was sent out, but the young man passed away just as the cab left Warea. An inquest was held at Warea on Sunday, when evidence bearing out the foregoing was given by Henry Corbett (father of deceased) and William Revell (farmer.) Dr Walker certified death to be due to spinal hemorrage, and a verdict to that effect was brought in by the jury.— Herald.
