Concert at Oaonui.

[By A Correspondent.] On Friday evenmg the Oaonui schoolroom was well filled, the occasion being the first anniversary of the Anglican Sunday School. The Rev. A. W. H, Compton presided. The following programme was gone through:—Pianoforte duet, Miss E. and Mr J. Humphries; " For old time's sake," Miss 0. Harrison; " Cherry Ripe," Rev. A. W. H. Compton ; " Jessie's Dream," Mrs V. Harrison; pianoforte solo, Miss E. Humphries ; trio (cornet, violin and piano), Messrs Pearce, Valentine and Humphries; Highland Fling, Mr D. Ross ; song, Mr Phillips ; pianoforte solo, Mr J.Humphries ; song. "The Boers have got m? daddy," Miss B. Harrison. Part II: overture, Messrs Pearce (cornet), Valentine (violin), Humphries (piano); song, " One of the family," Mr W.Francis (encored); duet, Misses Cook ; " Dream of Home," Mrs V. Harrison ; •« Only a Leaf," Mr Phillips, «« The Bridge," Miss Bertha Harrison ; " Told in the Threshold," Mr Valentine; recitation, " Trials of a Schoolmistress," Miss and Master Cook ; sword dance, Mr D. Ross ; duet, Miss Nellie Cook and Miss Lottie Pentelow ; " Sally in our alley," Rev. A. W. H. Compton ; song, Miss 0. Harrison. The Rev. Mr Compton handed prizes to the scholars: Nellie Cook, Clara Bowers, Maude Vickery, Joseph Gilmer, Chas. Cook, Charles Leng, John Kirkwood, Robert Gilmer, Charles Vickery, Willie Pentelow, John Cook, Henry Cook, Ada Cook, Allan Lusk, Grace Lusk, Grace Pentelow, Agnes Gilmer, Florence Vickery, Hilda Harrison, Arthur Harrison, Annie Cook, Emily Cook, Walter Vickery. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs and Miss Peaver for the superintendence of the Sunday school. Refreshments were handed around.

The accompaniments were played by Messrs Fowler and Humphreys.
