OBITUARY
MRS. MARION JONES The death at her daughter’s residence ih Auckland on Tuesday of Mrs. Marion Jones, widow, of the late Mr. William Henry Jones, Gisborne, came as a shock to her many friends. Mrs. Jones was th.e daughter of oil settlers in the Gisborne district and she was born there 69 years ago, afld spent practically the whole of her life in the Gisborne area. Mrs. Jones .married in Gisborne Mr. William Henry Jones, and the couple took up farming at Bushmere, where they came to be highly respected residents. A wide circle of friends came to know the kindliness of Mrs. Jones and she will be sadly missed by many of tie older Gisborne farming community. After her' husband died in 1918 Mrs. Jones continued to live in Gis-. borne until about three months ago, when, owing to health reasons, she left to reside in Auckland. To mourn their loss Mrs. Jones leaves four daughters and four sons—Mrs. W. Russell, Auckland; Mm. A. Seal, Auckland; -Mrs. C. Clayton-Green, Matawai; and Mrs. N. Pond, Matamata; Messrs. A., L.' and 0. Jones, Gisborne, and Mr. Hex Jones, Toa Toa. There are also 16 grandchildren.
