Pheasant Rearing.—The secretary reported that special warrants were issued by the Hon. W. E. Parry to all members who applied. Following the usual procedure of keeping members in touch with the activities of the club, various correspondence was read as received from the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Conservator of Fish and Game. A hearty vote of thanks to the chair was carried. ANNUAL REPORT The following report was presented by the president:— I am pleased indeed to once again present to you a report of a successful and encouraging year of progress. . Owing to the existing conditions which have greatly restricted your club’s activities we have not enjoyed the usual number of shoots. This is apparent also with our sister clubs in the Bay. Nevertheless the small number of shoots held were financially successful; notably the Soldiers Gift Fund shoot in which tho creditable amount of £36 16s 9d was handed over.

Membership has been well maintained although a slight decrease on last year’s figures is shown. Membership now stands at 106 financial members. A number of our members arc overseas, or in camp training, to do their bit for their country. To these cobbers I would suggest some Christmas gift, together with the club’s/ fraternal greetings, be sent.

Your committee's efforts in trying to obtain fry for; the rearing pond has again failed; the Department’s apathy in this respect is difficult to understand. This applies also to our repeated suggestions to the rearing of fingerlings in preference to the liberation of fry. The shooting season generally, was quite pleasing to all members, a number of limit bags being obtained. It is hoped with the further expansion of the Department’s game farm to obtain 'an increased quota for the ensuing season. Congratulations are extended to our “A” team for winning the. coveted Bay of Plenty challenge cup at Rotorua, and later at our own fixture successfully defending it. To the incoming executive I would suggest that some form of programme be drawn- up for the coming season; this would keep members’ interests fully alive.
