OPONAE SOLDIERS’ FAREWELL FUND The Oponac Soldiers’ Farewell Fund Committee held a very happy gathering in the Recreation Hall, Oponae, on Thursday, October 12, when there was a full attendance of members. The evening took the form of competitions, interspersed with musical items, and five hundred. The cushion competition was won by ticket number 116, the lucky winner being Mr. 11. A. Mueller. An egg guessing competition was won by Mrs. Mueller and Miss Hazel Pratt, who divided the prize. Mr. Dick Weihi was heard to advantage in a patriotic song and chorus. Mr. E. Pratt delighted with a solo, and Mrs. A. J. Macrae contributed a humorous recitation. Supper hostesses were Mrs. J. Wyllio, Mrs. R. Louden,' Mrs. W. Pratt and Mrs. Macrae.
