Wrigley, who is at present undergoing a course in the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Wigram Aerodrome, .is on leave in OpoLiki. »##■»*#« Mr. W. It. Kemp, whose people reside in Opotiki, has been accepted by the Royal New Zealand Air Force for training as a pilot. Mr. Kemp, who was the Auckland heavyweight boxing champion in 1939 and runner-up in 1038 and this year, has entered the ground training school at Levin. Ho has a good all-round athletic record and is 21 years of age. Ht> represented the Opotiki District High School at athlet es and Rugby and was a forward in the Ponsonby senior side when it won the Auckland Rugby Union’s chain-, pionship in 1930, 1937 and 1938.
WOODLANDS ANNIVERSARY DANCE A very enjoyable Woodlands Anniversary dance was held on Wednesday night in the Woodlands Hall. Music was supplied by Mr. Mannix’s orchestra.
