HIKUTAIA RAILWAY STATION.

That the Hikutaia railway statioi is a long way behind the time* Is freely admitted, and that being so, it is high time the Railway Department turned its attention in the direction of improving it. With tha exception of Paeroa, Te Aroha, and Morrinsville it has the largest passenger connection between Thames and Hamilton. The goods service te also on the increase on account; ">f the extensive stock sales held there every alternate week. The -station is no larger than the smallest alomj the line, only that it has a tablet connection. On certain days the capacity of the station is overtaxed with people and goods, and lack of adequate accommodation is a distinct mark. We trus.t, in justice to the inhabitants of Hikutaia and the traevlling public .that the Department will give this important matter favourable consideration and make such enlargements and improvements as will meet public needs.
