CADET MATCH.
The cadet match on Saturday between a team from Waihi and the local team, which was played as a curtain-raiser to the junior match, resulted in a draw, neither side scoring. • The game was y.ery even throughout. Waihi backs showed put a little in the ways of passing, and there were several 1 players on both sides who showed promise.
During the course of the cadet match the referee (Mr Bush) warned a payer off the field for what appeared to him to be attempting to kick an opponent. After the game the referee referred .the., matter to members of Waihi team, and no player wished 10 make any complaint. The player in question made his explanation to the referee, and this was corroborated by another Paeroa player. This explanation clearly showed no Intention on the pnr,t of the player to commit unfair tactics, and Mr Bush completely exonerated him. The matter was
reported at the Union meeting, and the Committee approved of his action and wish it to be understood that the player in question is absolved from all intention of indulging in unfair »lay. .
