He liad only been married sij jnonths, but already wore a \vorrie4 look. An older fiiend of his, with manj years of matrimonial experience behind him : asked him what troubled him.

"Well, it's like tliis," lie answered "My wife is one of tho best in thr world, but I'm hanged if I can gel ijier to mend my shirts!"

*'I suppose," 'answered the man ol ixperience, "you go up to her and ask Jkier to raend a shirt for you when it Beads repairing?"

'Ah, that's where you make a infitake! Now, what I do is this. When I find that one of my shirts wants mending I wave it about a bit, and say to my wife, "This thing's no goo&,-.wEere's tho rag-bag? "She, takes it, gives one look at it, and says: 'What, throw it away because of that little Tiole?' And before I can say Jack Robinson she gives me the shirt back mended.
