An amusing story was told by Rev. H. L. Blamires at the King's, Hamilton, last week. A soldier had a "snack" at a restaurant in France. The proprietor, although the charge was only half a franc, refused to give the soldier the change from a franc tendered in payment. Tommy therefore went to a sergeant who prided himself upon his knowledge of French. "Do you speak French?" he asked. " Yes," was the reply. " Well, I wish you would go in there and ask the old fellow for my half franc". The sergeant entered the shop, and asked, " Parley-vous Francais ?" " Oui oui, Monsieur," came the reply. " Well, why the he don't you give the man his change ?"
