meeting ;r—" Referring to previous correspondence regarding proposed alteration of boundaries of borough of Te Aroba; I am directed by the Minister of InternalvAfiairs; to enclose a copyof the report of the commission appointed to hold an inquiry into the matter, and to inform yoti that, in (accordance with such report, it is not proposed to; adyise^ His Excellency to give effect to the prayers of the petitioners." . Messrs Burgess, Sfceet, and Wallace, was as follows :— (t We find from the evidence that there is a general opinion among,the residents of the and portions of the Ohinemuri and Piako Counties that it is-desirable that the ' "bbundries of the Borough should be enlarged, but;not by the inclusion merely ot the area metioned in the petition, but ,ol Jand lying to the eastward thereof and in the I^iako Qounty, westward of Ohineittun River. All the witnesses who appeared before the commissioners (with 'tlie exception of Mr Burrows) stated it "as their conviction that it is not m the interests of the Borough or of the inhabitants of the land referred to that v the comparatively small area described in the petition should, by itself, become part of the" Borough, that su.ch a change is not * desired by them, and that to render any addition to the area of land ibl the!
