London, December 5. A party of German balloonists who left Munich in an attempt to voyage to Switzerland on Saturday were caught by a gale and carried northwards. The balloon sped across the North Sea at a terrific rate, and was in danger of falling into the sea when the crew managed to make a descent on the Orkney Islands on Sunday. One passenger was jerked overboard and drowned.
