It is proposed to hold a Universal Races Congress in London next July, and the Hon. W. Pember Reeves is chairman of the Executive Committee. The object of the congress (says a London correspondent) is to discuss the relations between the peoples of Europe and Asia, with a view to promoting a 'better understanding between them. During the coming session at the London School of Economics, Mr Reeves will as usual give a series of lectures which will bear more or less on the economic conditions of the dominion. The London Express announces that a gala performance, in which the leading British actors and actresses will take part, will be given during the coronation festivities. The proceeds will be given to the theatrical charities. This is the outcome of a widespread desire on the part ol the theatrical profession to be represented—as the opera is—during the gala time of the coronation, and the Express understands that approval from high quarters has been given to the suggestion. .
