COMBINED HANDICAP.
A combined handicap tournament was played on the Paeroa tennis ground on Saturday, the scores being as follows :— First Round.—Mrs Towers and Barrance (18) defeated Miss Edwards and Rev. Randerson (12) by 40 to 35 ; Miss McCombie and W. Edwards (17) defeated C. Edwards and Matthews (17) by 40 to 37 ; Mrs Brunskill and Bush (7) defeated Miss Kenny and Rev. Lowery (18) by 40 to 39; Fairfax Moresby and Smith (17) defeated Mrs Bush and Meredith (10 behind scratch) by 40 to 25. Second Round. — Mrs Towers and Barrance (18) defeated Miss McCombie and W. Edwards, (17) by 40 to 37; Fairfax Moresby and Smith (17) defeated Mrs Brunskill and Bush (7) by 40 to 28. Final.—Fairfax Moresby and Smith (17) defeated Mrs Towers and Barrance (18) by 40 to 29. It is intended to hold combined handicap tournaments at regular intervals throughout the season.
