Poisoning Fatality.
WOMAN DEINKS CARBOLIC ACID. (By Electric Telegraph.) Auckland, Ma>ch 24. This afternoon Mrs Elizabeth Stokes was poisoned by carbolic acid with fatal results. Being thirsty she took £ drink from a beer bottle in which a neighbour kept carbolic acid for disinfecting purposes. The beer label being on the~bottle the woman thought it was beer. She soon became unconscious, and in spite* of .the efforts of the doctors eventually expired.
