A False Rumour.
MAJOR-GENERAL HUTTON,

A rumor was current here that Major-U-eneral Hutton had resigned Owing to political interference with Ms re-organisation oi the defence. M-ajor-Qetieral Huttou emphatically denies any intention tq resign. Jfe states that at no period since he assume:! command has there been so much hope of a successful issue to bis scheme of re-organisation as now.
