ONLY THREE IN IT.
(To the Editor). Si it,—ls there any truth in tho ...s report that Mr Moss, if elected, will remove his office and. legal practice to Wellington,', thus depriving us of his valuable services in Paeroa as a legal practitioner. If this is so, sir, I think that we are in duty bound not to vote for him. Financially he is committing suicide —or may I say giving up his living for his country. It -would be a catastrophe, should we lose Mr Moss. It woul.l be a pity to waste-him-at ■Wellington. He should not be allowed to sacrifice himself in this manner. He will be missed at the Warden's Court, at the seat of custom,^and at the table. We shalj* meet, but\ we shall miss him. Ste|j|i,: off the &iU of fare, boarders i^^say God ble^s_ him, there will be lie tucker therer""" This may not be poetry, but look at at the beautiful truth conveyed in it.
It would be a pity to waste Mr Mervyii Stewart too down at Wellington. Those ignorant people in the • House would not in.the least under.-. stand Ms mission. But, how I love to hear him speak. Beside, he sets the fashion in this deplorable back block in hat, coat, and boots. No, I cannot lose Mcrvyn. Give us this day our daily Deßak-. ker. He has grafted with graft and craft. His epigrams may yet be heard in the classic shades of Bellamy's, the quips and cranks of Bohemia may yet lengthen the columns of Hansard. Ah, methinks, Hansard and Bellamy do occasionally play into*"'-' one another's hands. I like McOullough's chance. He/ has a per suave manner, and I faney^ must have taken, a big bite out of that^ bit of a shtone over beyant. ' It is really between Jackson Palmer, Mac, and Deßakker; and liynij^Jsh w ve could get the whole three in!-^BSIB Yours, etc., . Pboverbs ch. 27 v. 5. Dec. 4, 1899.
