. MISCELLANEOUS. ]_ PAEROA TRAMWAY. NOTICE of the intention of the Ohinemuri County Council, being the local authority, to apply for au Order authorising the construction of a Tramway at Paeroa within the County of Oliiucmuri along the route mentioned in the following advertisement, and of intention to delegate tlie authority conferred by such order. NOTICE is hereby given that after the expiration of four weeks from the first publication of this advertisement, application is intended to be made to His Excellency the Governor in Council for an Order empowering the Ohinemuri County Council, the local authority, to construct and use, or cause to be constructed and used, a Tramway at Paeroa within the County of Ohinemvai along and over the Eoute following; that is to say Commencing at the'Opukeko Creek on the Puke Eoad, thence southerly on the said Puke Eoad to the North Boundary of the Paeroa Eailway Station Eeserve, Thence easterly along the Northern Boundary of said Paeroa Station Eeserve, Thence southerly along the Eastern Boundary of the said Paeroa Station Eeserve to the. Belmont Eoad, Thence southerly along the Belmont and NormanbY roads to the north bank of the Tawa Stream, a length of three and a half miles, more or less. - Also with necessary Station and other sidings and passing places, as may be approved by the County Engineer for the time being, as being required tfor the purposes of Such Tramway. AND NOTICE is hereby further given that the said Tramway is intended to be used both' for goods and passenger traffic, and that proper plans and cross sections of the proposed works have been deposited, and will remain open for in- ' spection at the Office of the Ohinemuri County Council, the- local authority, in Paeroa during the foiir weeks aforesaid. That the said Tramway with the necessary bridges and culverts will be constructed as follows: — The rails to be forty pound iron rails laid to a guage of tnree feet six inches apart, such, sleepers to be of heart of Kauri, Matai, Silver Pine, Puriri, Totara, or other approved timbers, and not less than seven feet, by seven inches by five inches, the whole to be well and thoroughly ballasted with suitable metal up to, and flush with, the tops of. both iron rails, find so permanently maintained for a total width of not less than .eight feet. The tops of the iron rails laid as above to be maintained to a level corresponding with thfc curvature in the cross section of the formation of the roads or streets as *nay at any' time be adopted by the local authority. All crossings will be constructed, as required by the County Engineer, for the time being, and so maintained. It is intended to work the above men - tioned Tramway by Horse power s AND NOTICE is hereby further given that the said Ohinomuri County Council, the local authority, intend after the granting of the said Order, and subject to the'profisions of " The Tramways Act, 1894," to'delegate the authority to be conferred upon it by the said order to The Honble, Captain George B. Morris, M.L.C., upon and subject to the terms and conditions imposed bjr theEesolution of the Ohinemuri^ County Council, the local authority, of which the following is a copy :— * "Proposed by Cr. Edwards and seconded by Cr McGruer: —(That the concession asked for be granted subject to the provisions of the Tramways ct. The lines being constructed under the supervision of the County Engineer; and in case the line has to be shifted, the Council to hold a right over the Eails until such time as the road is put into proper repair. That the rates arc reasonable and the line made the full width of eight feet and kept in repair; the Crossings, etc., to be made under the ■ supervision and subject to the control of the Council. That the Tramway be laid where pointed out by the County Engineer, and that the Council have the right to re-enter at a compensation; and subject to such other conditions as the' Council may think fit to impose.'" « AYES—Crs.
