NATIONALIST TROOPS TRAIN IN FORMOSA
Formosan youths, wearing only regulation shorts, are shown here doing bayonet drill, under the instruction of veteran Chinese Nationalist troops. They receive arduous training after conscription to serve under Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek in preparation for the defence of Formosa against a possible invasion by Chinese Communist troops or the invasion of the mainland. Chiang Kai-shek is in favour of the invasion of the mainland by his troops with the co-operation of the United States Navy and Air Force. He claims that his army would receive the support of 1,500,000 guerrillas in China.
