TRADES BUILDING
Technical College Need
The fact that, during the next five years, there would be a large increase in the number of boys attending post-pri-mary schools in Dunedin, strengthened the case for the erection of the proposed new trades building at the school, said the principal, Mr J. V. Burton, last night. “ This building is necessary in order to satisfy the growing needs of our technical work, but its erection would meet not only this need, but also the need for additional post-primary accommodation. There would be released in our main building a number of classrooms where we could take additional pupils. It would appear on the evidence rvailable that this is the most commonsense approach to the postprimary problem in Dunedin. Present evidence does not substantiate the claim for the erection of another post-primary school in Dunedin in the immediate future,” he said.
