Although the peak has not yet been reached, it appears that Christmas cards and letters of greeting are being posted earlier this year, and officials at the Dunedin Post Office are confident that they will be able to cope with the annual rush of parcels, which is expected next week. Between December 6 and December 11, 322,990 letters passed through the mailroom (above), compared with 294.690 for the corresponding period last year.
