SAFE BLOWN OPEN
Company Suffers Heavy Loss PA AUCKLAND, Dec. 11. Cash and cheques totalling about £BSO were taken from a safe blown open in the basement of Barker and Pollock. Ltd., dress goods specialists, Queen street, some time during the week-end. The thieves entered throught the main door, and piled bolts of dress material around the safe to muffle the explosion. The safe was wrecked and a quantity of the dress material damaged. More than £BOO of the total stolen was in cash and represented the whole of Friday’s takings.
